We arrived at the American Cemetery and the landing beaches. Then we all were able to walk around the cemetery and then walk down to Omaha beach. After that, we went to a World War II museum. There were articles, newspapers, videos, etc. that depicted the war. There was an area on the Cold War and on D-Day that the we could visit. After we had gone through the museum, we saw a short film on the invasion. We drove to Arromanches to see the “Mulberry Harbors” and then walked through the town for about 30 minutes. Our last stop that day was at the German bunkers. I thought a lot about my Great-Grandfather and his service during World War Two, he would land just up the coast several months later but there was plenty of danger left before he returned home.
