Schenectady Light Opera Company (SLOC) is a nonprofit community theater organization in Schenectady, New York, established in 1926. The current location of the theater is at the new performance art center at 427 Franklin Street, in downtown Schenectady. The company has presented over 200 shows at various locations for over 80 years. The company presents amateur theater productions.
Legally Blonde the Musical – September 25 – October 4, 2015
Legally Blonde is a musical with music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin and book by Heather Hach. The story is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. Throughout the show, no one has faith in Elle Woods, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.
Volunteered as a Follow-spot Operator, is a theatrical technician who operates a specialized stage lighting instrument known as a follow-spot. A follow-spot is any lighting instrument manually controlled by an operator during a performance. Generally a follow-spot will be a dedicated, large lighting instrument designed to pan, change size, beam width, and color easily by hand.
The Producers – May 6 – May 15, 2016
Down and out producer Max Bialystock, who was once the toast of Broadway, trades sexual favors with old ladies for cash contributions. Max’s new accountant Leo Bloom, offhandedly muses that if Max found investors for a new production that turned into a flop, he could legally keep all the extra money. The duo begins to put together the worst play possible, titled “Springtime for Hitler”, with a terrible director and a hippie-freak star.
Volunteered as a Stage Crew I am responsible for keeping track of cast members, sets and miscellaneous details during rehearsals and production of a stage performance as directed by the Stage Manager. Is responsible for the safety of the backstage area during all performances. Cleans stage at start of call-time and is responsible for all set changes during the course of a performance or rehearsal. Returns set to “pre-show” setting after every performance.They also attend all rehearsals and assist the Stage Manager in any assignments given.

The jungle is jumpin’ with a jazzy beat in Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.
Managed the sound staff and ran the sound board to facilitate the technical aspects of creating and maintaining the audio for the two musicals.

Hieronymus is an intensely colorful, large-scale musical the entire family will love, with all of the elements we so enjoy in a good musical; the love story is inspiring and uplifting, the villain hellishly evil, the songs lush and appealing, and the dances exhilarating. The comedy and the fabulous creatures are unforgettable.
I was the Sound Assistant for this production and Documentary film broadcast locally on our PBS station.
The Sweet Smell of Success with the Not So Common Players of Clifton Park

Based on the 1957 movie by the same name, The Sweet Smell of Success tells the story of J.J. Hunsecker who rules it all with his daily gossip column in the New York Globe, syndicated to sixty million readers across America. J.J. has the goods on everyone, from the president to the latest starlet. And everyone feeds J.J.’s scandal, from J. Edgar Hoover and Senator Joe McCarthy down to a battalion of hungry press agents who attached their news to a client that J.J. might plug. You can become no one if J.J. turns on you.
