In the end I was accepted to 9 out of 10 colleges that I applied to. The exception was SUNY New Paltz I have heard in the positive from all the others and most have sent financial information. In the end it was not much of a race though as The College of Saint Rose is where I will be going next year. I believe it has the best value for the money that I want to spend and a great Psychology program to learn and grow in. So unlike the LA LA land and Moonlight announcement this one is all Saint Rose.
Here is the video of me making the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at St. Rose.
Today I attended “Be a Knight for a day” at The College of Saint Rose. After a bit of a rough start to the day, I got on campus and spent the whole day. I spent the morning with Theresa, an education major and went to class with her. We then went to a volunteer event, PB and Jams. Students on campus make over 3,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to feed the homeless in Albany. I joined right in and made sandwiches, which garnered me a spot on TV!! One of the local television stations was doing a story on the event, and while I did not speak on camera, I was clearly seen.
After this, I went with my afternoon host Julia, who is a psychology major. She and her suitemates showed me their room and we went to the dining hall for lunch. I talked with one of her roommates who plans to study I/O psychology. Julia was trying to register online for spring classes, but was having trouble so we went the the registrars office. Good things to learn about. I went to a class with her as well, and it was very interesting.
Both Theresa and Julia were great hosts and I am really excited to be attending St. Rose in the fall.
